2014 Pride Run & Walk

The pennies have been counted and the bills have been paid and Vancouver Frontrunners are
pleased to announce that they are donating over $10,000 to Out in Schools and QMUNITY, raised from the 2014 Vancouver Pride Run & Walk. Thanks for everyone that joined us this year and mark your calendars to come run with us in 2015!

* VFR wants to champion inclusivity, options, and awareness as part of this pride event. VFR aims to be a part of removing barriers to event participation, which VFR recognizes starts with the registration process and extends to competition. This year the Pride Run & Walk is excited to introduce a third race category (i.e. gender variant) to celebrate the gender diversity in the LGBT community. Participants can also opt out of gender categorization altogether if they wish a more fun experience of the Vancouver Pride Run and Walk. As far as VFR knows, this is the first ever running race category of its kind in North America.

We'd like to thank the Vancouver Frontrunners  and all participants for helping make schools safer for LGBT youth.

With approximately 150 members, the Vancouver Frontrunners are one of the largest running and walking clubs in BC. Founded in 1983, the Frontrunners are one of the oldest LGBT sporting clubs in Vancouver. The club meets twice weekly and participates in a number of races, fundraisers, and sporting events throughout the year. They also host monthly social events such as potlucks, movie nights, barbecues, and even road trips to meet up with the Frontrunner clubs in Portland and Seattle.
